Book Description

The Silmarillion, J.R.R. Tolkien, George Allen & Unwin, 1977, First Edition, First Impression Edited, partly written and published posthumously by Tolkien's son in 1977, this book consists of a collection of myths and stories in varying style by his father, J.R.R. Tolkien. Inside the back cover is a fully intact fold-out map of part of Middle-earth, Beleriand in the First Age. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The top edge retains its original dark blue tint. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with nibbling to the top edge of the front cover, slight loss and a small nick to the top corner of the front cover, wear to the bottom corner of the front cover, nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the slightly sunned spine and a small nick to the top edge of the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
