One would guess maybe read once and then stored carefully The binding is tight and straight, the boards clean and bright with the gilt lettering clear and bright. The endpapers and pages are clean without tears, marks or inscriptions. Page edges have just a touch of foxing. The unclipped jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover has retained its colouring extremely well. Two tiny nicks and a crease to the rear cover.
