Original olive-green cloth lettered and decorated in darker green to spine with full-size onlaid pictorial plate to upper board, double-page pictorial endpapers; pp. [viii], 13-265 + [i]; with fine uncaptioned coloured plates, full-page black-and-white plates and other decorations and drawings in line; an unusually fresh copy, both externally and internally, with light wear to onlaid cover illustration; scarce. First edition, first issue, with all required points including the advertisement leaf to verso of the uncompleted "Book Belongs To" page listing 11 previous titles and ending with "The Tin Woodman of Oz". This is the final Oz title written by Louis Baum, which was completed just before his death.
