Book Description

First Edition, Folio, [viii] 1380 (27). Contemporary full calf, spine and board gilt, small slit to front board. Remains of vellum manuscript used as part of the binding to front gutter. A1 (blank) present. Early signature Ex dono Johannis Bingley Armigers, small blind stamp to title.
Dealer Notes
Occasional head and tail pieces and occasional wood-engraved capital. An attractive copy of a sought-after work in its original binding. The binding is in good condition but at some point, the book has suffered from some temporary contact with water. A3 soiled and occasional tide marks to margins of later pages. A3 could be cleaned but the tide marks will remain. The Maccesfield Library copy. Please note condition, nevertheless, still an attractive item priced accordingly with a good provenance.
