First editions, first impressions; 8 vols (complete), 8vo; frontispieces and illustrations by Stuart Tresilian, two vols with coeval ownership inscription to front free endpaper, overall internally very good; publisher’s pictorial cloth, very good copies, dust-jackets with wrap-around artwork by Tresilian, first vol. neatly price-clipped and with small section of loss to foot of spine, second vol. with slight loss to spine ends, some spines slightly dulled, 1 jacket with old tape repairs to reverse, another with a few old paper conservations to the reverse, but overall a very good set.
