Dealer Notes
The sketches for this work were drawn during Lami's first visit to England in 1826. '.... a set of a dozen delicately hand coloured lithographs. These were intended as a memento for for tourists from the Continent of their trip to London, illustrating the journey, the sights, and typical Anglo-Saxon diversions.' -- Bernard Adams: London illustrated. 1604 - 1851. No. 237. --- Gordon N. Ray: The At of the French Illustrated Book. 1700 to 1914. No. 138.
