Book Description

This book provides a fitting tribute to the trows, the distinctive wooden sailing craft, that were a common sight on the River Severn, its tributaries & estuarial waters for over 500 years. They ventured up the Wye, into the Somerset Levels, along the canals of Gloucestershire and to the many small ports around the coast of Wales. Today the only surviving trow is 'The Spry' almost totally re-built & resting out of water at the Ironbridge Museum.
