Book Description

This is the First UK printing of this edition published by Macmillan, London in 1916. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original blue cloth boards with striking gilt embossed design to the spine and front board by Sturge Moore. Light pushing at the spine ends with just a little toning to the text-block. Internally free from inscriptions with just some mild offsetting to the blank end-papers. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Light edge-wear with a little rubbing at the corners and spine tips. A small closed tear to the upper rear spine fold. Only light toning to the spine and folds and much less than usually encountered. Some light spotting in places. The original GLASSINE wrapper is present and is in near Fine condition with just tiny loss in places. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book was first published in 1914 by the Cuala Press. This updated Edition has a further nineteen poems from 'The Green Helmet And Other Poems' (1909-12) and 'The Hour-Glass' (1912). A very scarce title in exceptional condition with the original wrapper and the first we have handled with the original glassine present. Collectible.
