Hardback. 232pp. First edition. Adventure story. Illustrated by Peggy Fortnum (best known for illustrating the Paddington Bear series). Colour illustrated dust jacket. Mary Fitt was a pseudonym of the classicist Kathleen Freeman. colour frontis with further black and white illustrations throughout. The black and white illustrations have been coloured in by a previous owner -they have been done very neatly. It remains a charming and hard to find volume with the dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt titles to the spine has a hint of dustiness to the very edges else clean and bright. Dust jacket is age toned with some scattered, very faint foxing. Dust jacket is frayed to edges with small chips and tears. Price clipped.
