A very sound re-backed copy in the Original Quarto signed " Riveire" full calf binding for Eton College with presentation leaf to Arturo Phillips Roberts ab stima discedenti Jacobus J.Hornby and later signature of Thomas Gray [?] Severus Avenue Acomb York." 4to pp.xvi 415 Chiswick Press colophon. Four mounted albumen photographs including a view of Eton and an early portrait of the author as frontispiece these 4 inserted plates are foxed as usual but otherwise very clean. Included is Gray's masterpiece "Elegy Written in a Country-Churchyard" and 45 letters.
