A True Account of the Alienation and Recovery of The Estates of the OFFLEYS OF NORTON in 1754: etc.
A good copy in contemporary half calf of this extremely scarce work relating to the Sheffield district of Norton, the families of Offley & Newton and a disputed inheritance. A synopsis of which can be found in the Gentleman's Magazine of 1841 [who published the earlier account by R.P.Ward which prompted this] Loosely inserted is a letter from Thomas Rodgers on his headed notepaper and dated Jan 1887, regarding the Queen Victoria Jubilee Celebrations in Sheffield and a [Whitby] funeral card for the wife of Joseph Rodgers of Norton Woodseats. Rotherham Library's de-accessioned copy with all evidence removed.
