This is a Very Good Copy of this Book in Publisher's original red cloth with gilt title lettering to spine and with gilt vignette of a Pheasant to the upper cover,gilt lined border with further decorative border in black to the upper cover.All page edges are in gilt.Large quarto that measures 32cm by 24cm.Bevelled edges to the book.The corners of the book are a little bruised.Yellow endpapers are original.This copy nhas NO former names or inscriptions present.Slight bleed of the red dye onto the front endpaper.Superbly illustrated by T.W. Wood with an engraved frontispiece and 12 more engraved plates of various species of Pheasants,with many additional smaller engraved illustrations set within the text.This is the enlarged Second Edition of 1881.The Author was authority upon pigeons and poultry of all kinds that everything which he writes on the subject of these birds is sure to be received with attention.The work will be found invaluable to any one projecting the cultivation of pheasants either in the covert or in the aviary.
