Dealer Notes
Hinchliff, who was called to the bar but never practiced, travelled extensively, writing about his journeys in several well-received books. His passion was mountaineering, which led him to join with other enthusiasts in founding The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering society, serving in several offices including three years as its President.
A record of the author’s two years of travels with a friend. Sailing from London to Brazil, around the Straits of Magellan, up the Pacific coast of south America as far as California, across the Pacific to Japan, then home. They spent a good part of the time travelling inland to visit the sites and explore the countries they touched.
