Book Description

Landscape quarto, 144pp, aeg, 28 plates (including frontispiece) on pale green cartridge paper (as called for), blue cloth bevelled edge covers with gilt tiles and border in blind. The contents are in very good condition - there is some foxing to the early pages and a few of the pages are a little worn down the right hand side. The half title and last page are toned. The covers have a little wear. The whole book has been re-cased by my bookbinder, so is ready for its next 140 years! Overall, a very nice copy of a delightful and rare book - Sambourne was a cartoonist for Punch.
