CASTLE HOWARD, by Henrietta Elizabeth Howard. A mid 19th century sepia wash drawing, titled and initialled by the artist. There is a drawing of Scarborough to the reverse side. 90mm x 130mm. 1865. Henrietta Elizabeth Howard (c.1806-1892), was the daughter of Ichabod Wright and his wife Harriet (née Day). In 1824 she married The Very Rev. The Hon. Henry Edward John Howard DD (1795-1868), Dean of Lichfield and son of Frederick Howard, 5th Earl of Carlisle. From a collection of Henrietta Howard material sold by Jacob Boston Fine Art, 13 Milford Hill, Salisbury, SP12QX. The large family archive of sketchbooks and drawings, was sold by Dominic Winter at auction in 2019. The archive included other views of Castle Howard by her, with one entitled ‘'From my Window’
