                            The book was previously owned by Stephen O. Taylor of Leicester and has a prize plate for the Queens prize tipped into the prelim. Pages ( see photos) this prize was given for perspective drawing in the art examination by the department of science and art of the committee of council on education 1896. This wonderful book was his prize!!. Stephen O. Taylor designed the 6,000 pipe organ in De Montford Hall, Leicester which still survives and is the only surviving example of his work. Stephen O. Taylor & sons was a famous firm of Leicester organ builders .
First edition 1891. Second series.
Self published by the author , printed by Charles Whittingham and co at the Chiswick press, Chancery Lane, London .
Publishers blue cloth titled and decorated in gilt. Spine a little dulled with age but titles still legible , minor signs of age and wear to the binding but all still tightly bound. The rear cover is lightly scratched.
Internally clean & complete ( one folding plate has small tear on the hinge) light foxing to prelims.
Top edge gilt, page edges un-trimmed.
