Light marks on the back, and small tears at top and bottom of spine. Pages themselves are clean and unmarked. Proverbs presented on the page within a beautiful red border. Previous bookseller's stamp at the bottom of the title page. One in a series of National Proverbs volumes published by McKay. A collection of folk wisdom from Arabia, with 298 proverbs such as "The embrace at meeting is better than at parting", "The cat, though blind, is still hankering for mice", and "Patience is the key to glory". Scarce.
