In three parts. Brown cloth covers with gilt lettering to the spine. Still a good and sound binding with some mottling/spotting to boards, slight bumping and scuffing to corners, scuffing and minor loss to tips of the spine and split to top & bottom edge of the spine, with a little movement to the upper board. Decorative pre title page to all 3 parts, facsimile of first page, tissue guarded full page colour plates, black & white illustrations and title page to parts 1 and 2 (Fasciculus I & II). Light foxing to first and last few pages but overall with clean and bright pages with sporadic light marks to a few pages. 'The Editor has endevoured, by producing the first part of the "Legenda Sanctorum" with abbreviations, a facsimile of the first page, and a cover illustrative of the literal decoration of the MSS., as well as the coloured list of saints' days as they occur in their proper order, to convey some idea of the character and condition, no less than the peculiarities, of these massive volumes'.
