Inscribed on the FFEP "For Carol Cassidy, with best wishes - Ralph Gustafson, June 1942". Just the third work of prolific Canadian writer and educator Ralph Gustafson (1909 - 1995), who would go on to win multiple awards. Carol Cassidy (1881 - c1963) was a fellow Canadian writer who produced several Children's books under her married name Carol Cassidy Cole.
