Book Description

Hardback. 324pp. Signed, first edition. Signed and inscribed by Ernest Raymond to the title page and dated July 1949.Interesting, not only for the detailed text, but also for the extensive collection of period photographs of places associated with the Brontë sisters and their books. Black and white frontis. and further plates with 33 black and white photographs. Colour illustrated dust jacket by Alex Jardine has very attractive wrap around illustration. Hard to find in dust jacket and not often seen signed. Indexed. Black cloth is rubbed to edges with a few faint, minor marks. Binding is sound. Dust jacket illustration is bright though there is some dustiness to the small white panel to the back and to the white fore-edges of the dust jacket. The dust jacket is slightly baggy and has some short closed tears and a other minor edge wear.
