Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Hardcover in unclipped 15s net dust-jacket. Used. Fifth impression March 1959. First published in October 1951.Top page edges a little dusty. Some tanning to end-papers. Near complete unclipped dust-jacket a little toned to lower covers. A little rubbing to spine ends with a closed tear to head of spine. Small loss to bottom left hand panel. Signed and dated by Thompson to the half-title page. Generally a good copy in a good jacket. Foxing to the page edges.

Detective Inspector Walter Henry Thompson BEM (3 December 1890 – 18 January 1978) was a British police officer who is best known as the bodyguard of Winston Churchill for eighteen years, between 1921 and 1935, and between 1939 and 1945 during World War II. Thompson reportedly saved Churchill's life on numerous occasions.
