Hero-Myths and Legends of the British Race #101678
Book Description
A very good copy of this book in rarely found dust jacket. Bright gilt titles and decoration, head edge gilt, other untrimmed, fifty nine full page illustrations by various artists, frontispiece in colour, others black and white, There is some embrowning and paste action to end papers. Tipped into the free front end paper is what appears to be the front panel of the dust jacket taken from another copy, a little creased. Maud Isabel Ebbutt was a folklorist who was known for her retellings of Nordic and British myths and heroic legends, very much from a late Victorian perspective. This volume contains 59 full page illustrations by such illustrators as Byam Shaw, Gertrude Hammond and W. H. Margetson.
A rare survivor of another time and 'another' country.
