[iv], 320 pp., 8 col plates, Small-8vo, orig. blue cloth, dec. in gt and black, aeg; rubbing/minor wear to extemities. Some light foxing to plates. Prize inscription dated 1883 to verso of endpaper, 'First Prize for having attended 16 out of 17 meetings of the Band of Hope for 1883.' The Band of Hope was a temperance movement for working class children founded in Leeds in 1847.
Undated edtiion, ca 1883 (first published 1863). Attractive chromolithographic plates.
