Printed by Mowbray and Co, Oxford, 1896, 1st edition. Half leather binding with white cloth boards. Gilt lettering to front cover. 8.25ins x 6.75ins, [viii], 164pp. Great Amwell is just south of Ware in Hertfordshire. Text includes a chapter on Haileybury College. Free endpapers browned. Previous owners signature to front pastedown. Also an old antique shop sticker (with price of one pound, one shilling). Quarter inch split to top of spine/front board. Top front corner worn, otherwise a VG copy of a scarce work in the original form.
