GOLD UNICORN illustrated by Mark Zug ( An inscribed Association Copy)
Book Description
A unique Presentation Copy of the First Edition inscribed to the title page. ".To Rosemary la Belle love Tanith. More of le peeve. !! Tanith 1954 The good hear too little of praise; The bad hear too little of blame; But true love is never a phase - And under the bushel, the flame. Burns on just the same ! " This is a well-known quote by the 17th-century poet Robert Herrick, used here by Tanith to express solidarity, loyalty, and a shared perspective on public praise versus quiet, true friendships. In Gold Unicorn (and the broader Unicorn trilogy, which includes Black Unicorn and Red Unicorn), the "Peeve" is a central, highly beloved character. Tanith and Rosemary were literary peers, lifelong friends and mutual admirers Rosemary wrote the foreword to Lee's critically acclaimed short-story collection, Dreams of Dark and Light and there is evidence that Tanith wished to dedicate her book Delirium's Mistress to her. In short a wonderful association copy in pristine condition.
