Book Description

Original half-bound navy cloth & black buckram with blind-stamped lettering. Textblock made of Magnani acid-free archival quality rag paper, & hand-set in Monotype Bodoni Signed by R. S. Thomas , Copy number 25 edition of a limited 500 print run, of which 100 were signed & numbered. Printed by Babel & Martino Mardersteig/Stamperia Valedonega. With associated ephemera (auction ticket). Frieze is a late limited-edition collection by Welsh poet R. S. Thomas, in which brief, chiselled lyrics contemplate time, mortality & the traces of human presence on landscape & spirit. These spare, sculptural poems move between Welsh hill country, church interior & the silence of an often distant God, asking what endures when words fall away.
