Incised concentric geometric designs to front, rear and spine. Gilt lettering to spine. Roundel to centre of front board with circular gilt lettering and decoration framing a coloured depiction of the crests of the two universities. Teg. 13ins x 10ins ( and over 2ins thick. Volume one:, marbled endpapers, ix, (i), 332pp plus 22 portait plates, a map of the boat race course and 154pp of illustrations of sports teams or individual players . Volume two: marbled endpapers, vii, (i), 325pp plus 26pp portraits and 146pp plates of players. The sports covered include athletics, cricket, rowing, rackets, tennis, rugby, association football, hockey, golf and polo. Comprehensive commentary and list of results for the various sports, followed by a long biographical section. Portrait plates are printed on a heavier stock paper than the other plates. A VG well bound set. Nb heavy set c 7kg - expensive to post overseas.
