Book Description

A copy of a lovely 1800s edition of 'The Fables of Aesop', published by Allman & Sons, with 'Instructive Applications' by Samuel Croxall. Lists 211 of Aesop's Fables and contains over 100 engravings to illustrate these. A fabulous open-out panorama illustration as frontispiece; this is still present, still attached and in very good shape (showing Aesop amongst the animals). Boards are good, though rubbed at edges and with some loss of spine covering especially at top. Small format book, measuring 5 inches by 3 inches. A bit of a gem...
