Book Description

A Cambridge College like Corpus has three principal aspects. It is firstly a continuing body of men and women devoted to teaching, to learning and to scholarship. It is secondly a constantly changing community of young people, enjoying an experience which is intense but necessarily very brief Last but by no means least it is a place - courtyards, rooms, gardens, hall, chapel, library - within which life is lived and through which the patterns of that life are profoundly shaped. Pierre Gorman's collection, ‘Corpus Christi College: some artistic impressions’, forms but a small part of a major catalogue of prints and illustrative material relating to the college on which he has been working for several years. This small volume is presented to Old Members and to others who know and love Corpus in the hope that it will bring back happy memories, and that it will provide a little additional information about many well-known scenes and places. Illustrated by 8 coloured & 18 b/w. prints.
