Book Description
First edition. Original ring binding with card covers. Four coloured maps and numerous black and white photographs throughout. Advertisement for Shell on the Road at the rear by Edward Bawden. Ring binding twisted. Front cover partially detached, very worn and wrinkled. Back cover missing. Rear endpaper a bit creased. Ink scribbling to verso of front cover. Slight foxing to the verso of each map and the text block edges. Poor.
Dealer Notes
A sorry example but the first edition of the first Shell Guide is very scarce. ‘IF you only try to like wasps they will like you BUT IF you are foolish enough to get stung, it is a good thing to have a blue bag handy.’
