Where applicable on earlier annuals, they have their publishers’ presentation bands to the front cover and spine. Many other annuals are still shrink wrapped in their original slipcase case. All annuals have a numbered certificate of authenticity or a printed no. inside showing which no. they are in the limited run. This limited edition series of facsimile annuals were produced by Express Newspapers between 1985 and 2011. The earlier ones had their no. printed inside, the later came with certificates. The aim was to reproduce the set originally published between 1936 - 1970. However the language and culture expressed in some of the annuals were considered insulting to some minority groups in society, in more up to date times, and so 11 annuals were not actually reproduced being 1946, 1947, 1954, 1956, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1967, 1968, & 1969.
