FIRST EDITION. a series of three plays written at the suggestion of her father for Thomas Sheridan at Drury Lane. WITH BOOK LABEL OF CHARLOTTE ANNE EATON, [1788-1859] novelist and travel writer and with the bookplate of banker husband Stephen Eaton [1780-1834], and her own Hendersysde Park book-label as 'Miss Waldie'. Charlotte Eaton, nee Waldie, did not marry until 1822, Although largely remembered as a woman travel writer, Eaton was no-doubt influenced by the highly successful writings of her older contemporary Maria Edgeworth. A quite pretty copy.
