Book Description

Rüdeman, Dolly (1902-1980). Collection of 14 theatre programmes with different graphic cover designs by Dolly Rüdeman, ca. 1920-1930, quarto (25 x 16,2 cm.).
Dealer Notes
= Extremeley rare collection, giving a great overview of the artist's groundbreaking designs. The designs by Dolly Rüdeman are very typical of style and are rarely found. This is quite an extensive collection, in a very good condition. Dolly Rüdeman worked in Paris with the world-famous poster designer A.M. Cassandre and developed her own art deco style. She gained wide recognition with her expressive filmposter designs that she developed for the Nederlandsche Bioscoop Trust (N.B.T.) [The Dutch Cinema Trust]. Her most well-know design is the poster for the Russian avant-garde film Potemkin from 1926 [The same design as a programme is included in this collection].
