"In such circumstances, the Co-operative Movement, like all other democratic movements, must be prepared to use to the full its resources to assist in bringing the conflict to a successful issue for the democratic cause. The National Co-operative Authority representing all sections of the Co-operative Movement is unanimously of opinion therefore, that the whole strength of co-operative societies should be mobilised to assist the nation in its defence of co-operative ideals, justice and free democracy."
