ANON. CINDERILLA; OR THE LITTLE GLASS SLIPPER. York. Printed by J.Kendrew, Colliergate. No date , but circa 1810-1820. Pp16 including covers, and with sixteen woodcuts. Approx 95 x 64 mm. Disbound, with evidence of previous binding to the spine. Now resewn with linen thread. This copy with the stamp of J.Carr, printer and stationer of Fossgate, York. Carr was the son of Kendrew’s eldest daughter, and he is known to have continued to sell Kendrew’s stock after his death. As with all of Kendrew’s 16 page halfpenny chapbooks, the outer pages were simply washed with yellow after printing and binding, in imitation of card wraps.
