Book Description

Text German. 5th edition. Richard Kandt (1867-1918), was a German physician and, noted explorer of Africa. Between 1897 and 1904 he explored the North-West area of German East Africa, and established Kigali as an administrative capital of Rwanda. In July 1898 Richard Kandt discovered one of the Nile-sources in the Nyungwe Forest, Rwanda, which he believed was the essential Nile-source. The expedition is recounted in this work.
