Published by H.F. & G. Witherby Ltd, London, 1975, 1st edition. One of only 45 specially bound copies signed by the author. This copy no 23. The binding is by Sancorski & Sutcliffe. Quarter blue leather with brown cloth boards.Two raised bands to spine, gilt lettering to spine. Teg. 10ins x 7.75ins, marbled endpapers,133pp plus 14 colour plates. Artists featured include Edward Lear, John Gould, Joseph Smit, Frederick Frohawk, Archibald Thorburn, George Lodge, etc. Internally VG. Externally, spine just fractionally lighter than leather to sides but still a lovely copy of a scarce book.
