WOMAN BOOK COLLECTOR. Pictorial bookplate, inscribed: "Anna Caterina Bischi Angeletti". Depicts three cherubs in flight, draping flowers over a stone upon which the owner's name is written. In the foreground, a vase lays on its side among additional flora. In very good condition, hinge mounted onto a backing sheet. 70mm x 93mm. c1810. ~ An example is in the Maria Gerard Messenger Collection of Women's Bookplates at the Grolier Club. This bookplate is noted and illustrated in Gelli's Italian Bookplates, apparently found in use as an Ex Libris plate at the time, however Gelli dismisses it as actually a business or visiting card.
