1st Thus. 12 x 19 cm. White buckram, with gilt stamped titles, roundel, and facsimile inscription, “with Ellalaine Terriss’s love” to the front and titles to the spine, [x] 183[1] [3] adverts [1] blank, with tissue guarded frontispiece and black and white illustrations throughout by John Tenniel. There is a little toning to spine and edges and light dust staining. There is a tiny bruise to the top corner of the front board. Internally there are three newspaper cuttings on the front free endpapers with a little associated toning and a small 1cm red mark [glue] on the rear endpaper. There is light spotting to some of the pages and more to the tissue guard for the frontispiece. This scarce edition of Alice in Wonderland was produced to celebrate the 1900 production of the Alice in Wonderland musical at the Vaudedville Theatre which starred Ellalaine Terriss as Alice and also the One Hundredth Thousand printing of The People’s Edition
