A Time Of Gifts

Book Description
A Time Of Gifts, Patrick Leigh Fermor, John Murray, 1977, First Edition, First Impression
In 1933, at the age of 18, Fermor set out on an extraordinary journey by foot - from the Hook Of Holland to Constantinople. This book, hailed as a classic of travel writing and published when the author was 62, is the first volume of a trilogy and recounts his journey as far as the Middle Danube.
A fully intact Errata slip is laid in as issued and the map between pages 16 and 17 is intact and fully attached.
This is a True First / First and is not published in conjunction with The Book Society.
The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is some fading to the bottom edge of the front cover and the spine. There is minimal shelf wear to the top edge of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There is a small mark to the rear end papers.
The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with some fading and nibbling along the top edge of the front cover, spine and back cover.
Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
