Book Description

Lt. Gen. Pitt-Rivers FRS, FSA, FRAI (1827-1900) was an English officer in the British Army, an ethnologist, and an archaeologist. He is noted for his innovations in archaeological methodology, and in the museum display of items in these fields. He served as President of the Anthropological Institute 1881 - 1882. In this very uncommon book he describes in detail, and illustrates with photographs, three 'treasures' of the Dorset landscape.
