Celebrating 50 years of book fairs 

Book Description

A nice sound Large Paper copy of the First Edition in re-backed publishers cloth [11"X8"] retaining the original yellow coated endpapers with the successive book plates of Julius Charles Hare. Maurice Powell and Professor Sir Alfred E.Richardson K.C.V.O., P.P.R.A. the eminent scholar and architect. Forty tissue-guarded plates of mediaeval sculptured fonts, mostly from churches in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, no doubt on account of the fact that Simpson lived in Stamford, on the borders of those counties. A nice association copy at a very reasonable price.
