A Scent of Water
Book Description
A Scent of Water, by Carl MacDougall. Illustrated by Alasdair Gray.
A collection of 18 folk tales from both traditional and original sources, by Carl MacDougall, and all beautifully illustrated by Alasdair Gray. This work precedes any of Gray's published novels, and was the result of a chance meeting in a pub with the author, with the work being published by a small independent Glasgow publisher. The result was a very attractive publication, with Gray's distinctive style shining through.
Published by The Molendinar Press, Glasgow, 1975. First edition, first impression. Scarce hardback version.
A fine blue cloth hardback with silver titles to spine (looks unread). Dustjacket is very good - with some small nicks at the top and lower edges on folds. Lightly worn to top edge. The jacket is now housed in clear, protective, removable plastic.
