Book Description

Quarto. First edition. Frontispiece signed after Hollar. Pagination very irregular, but appears to match that given in ESTC, viz [14], [2], 31, [3], 33-92, 63-85, [9], 87-99, 200-247, [3], 6, [2], 54, [2], 303-372. Contemporary exasperated note to verso of title page complaining about the order of the folios, text partially in Latin, partially in English black letter. Contemporary dark calf, rebacked, edges speckled, faint water stain to last page of preface, overall a good clean example of a rare work in its first edition, with all pages intact. ESTC R211415.
