Book Description

This is a large original Manuscript Hand Drawn Map measuring 38 inches by 25 inches showing proposed new roads in the area of Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Trentham Hall and Park in Staffordshire, the map takes in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Keele Hall, Seabridge, The Limes, Butterton Hall, Butterton Farm, Clayton, part of Home Farm, Hanford, Toft Farm and Pool, Hem Heath, showing Toll Gates, Old Fields, and the lines of three new proposed roads, map has some creasing and edge wear with small edge tears with minimal loss, else in good general condition. Map is dated 1841 on the reverse, a very interesting 175+ year old manuscript map of an area that is now heavily built up and has the M6 Motorway running through it. The map has been stored rolled and will be posted in a postal tube.
