TRIFUNOVIĆ, Lazar. Lazar Trifunović (1929-1983) was a Serbian art historian, art critic and professor at the University of Belgrade. From 1962 to 1968 he was the director of National Museum in Belgrade.
A woodcut depicting a mythical winged dragon, with applied bead decoration. It has a red stamp which reads Mopyar. "Mopyar" is the Burmese word for a traditional Burmese woodcut print. This form of art is part of a long tradition of printmaking in Myanmar, historically used for both artistic expression and the dissemination of religious and political messages.
