True story of a couple who bought their own island "BON PORTAGE" at the Southern tip of NOVA SCOTIA. Tells of their 15 years of family life as the only occupants on the island where their only communication with the outside world was via a small boat. True story of their struggles to live in a lighthouse that is draughty, windswept and difficult to heat. Trying to live off the islands produce with only a small lightkeepers salary, educating 3 small children by correspondence courses .
