Book Description

Retired Veterinary Surgeon Alex Noble has collected in this anthology poems he has written mostly over the last 10 years. The first poem he wrote at the age of 25 (Onwards Aye Onwards to Essen You Go) was in memory of a close friend who was killed in the war. However his hobby did not really take off until after he suffered a serious heart attack a decade ago. The author was born in Symington, Ayrshire, in 1918 and moved from his native Scotland to practice in South Lincolnshire in 1942 after qualifying from Glasgow University as a Vet. He has remained in the Fens ever since, moving to the market town of March in 1944. He now considers himself to be a local. A number of these poems have been previously published in other anthologies.
