Book Description
First two volumes published by Elkin Matthews & John Lane, rest by John Lane, The Bodley Head. All yellow cloth boards with black lettering and decorations. Each 8.25ins x 6.75ins. Collated complete with 220 illustrations as listed. Many of the text pages in each volume remain unopened to the top. Please note that this set has been bound without the advertisements at the rear. Originally established by Henry Harland and Aubrey Beardsley, but Beardsley departed after the first four issues. Other artists include Walter Sickert, Walter Crane, D.Y. Cameron, William Rothenstein, John Singer Sargent and many more. Authors contributing included Henry James, Kenneth Grahame, Max Beerbohm, H.G. Wells, Baron Corvo and Arnold Bennett. A VG set. Nb combined weight 9kg.
