Book Description

Hamish Hamilton, 1st edition 1954. Hardback in price-clipped dustwrapper. 236pp. 7.5 x 5 inches approx. (190mm x 130mm). Dustwrapper a touch worn and rubbed; some creasing to spine ends; light sunning/fade to spine; toning/foxing and offsetting however in the main only visible to reverse side; some dustiness. Boards a touch bruised to corner tips; lightly bumped to spine ends; offsetting to endpapers; label to title page gummed to left side only; foxed to edges of page-block but generally pages clean. Nonetheless, a nice, bright copy – very attractive in its Val Biro designed dustwrapper.
Dealer Notes
The story ‘The Third Bullet’ was originally published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1937 under Carr’s pseudonym Carter Dickson, this version in a shorter form together with six other short stories.

Interestingly, although a publisher’s edition this copy was supplied through a book club – see gum backed label to title page.
